Steve and Nora Braseltonsteve and nora

When Pastor Steve began his ministry, he told the Lord “Send me anywhere but Africa!” Now, over 30 years later, Pastor Steve and his wife Nora Braselton have been called to Malawi – a small, poor African country located in the south east part of the continent of Africa.  Since 2009, through the ministry of Ruth’s Shawl, Pastor Steve teaches, trains, and disciples Malawian pastors, church leaders, and men through Biblical teaching.  Nora, as the Program Director for Ruth’s Shawl in Malawi, teaches, trains, and disciples Malawian women and oversees the establishment of literacy classes in the villages of Malawi.

Prior to their permanent move to Malawi, Pastor Steve and Nora served in California (USA) in pastoral ministry and counseling respectively.

HENRY CHISALE

Henry Chisale hails from the Kasungu District central region part of  Malawi.  He is a graduate of the African Bible College and has served as a volunteer in various organizations prior to joining Ruth’s shawl in 2017 as an intern.  Now he is working as a full-time staff as the training and internship officer.

MAFUNASE MZUMCHARO

Funa graduated from the African Bible College and she has served in various ministry areas including with Ruth’s Shawl outreaches and visiting teams.  She serves on staff as Administrator.

WILLIAM MPENDA 

William Mpenda graduated from the African Bible College with a degree in Community Development. He comes from the Lilongwe district. Currently he is serving as a Programs Coordinator. He joined Ruth’s Shawl as an intern in September of 2018.

ERNEST KALAMBO

Ernest  hails from Mpata village t/a Kyungu Karonga. He is a graduate of the Natural Resources College with a diploma in horticultural .  He first joined Ruth’s shawl as an intern in 2018 and now he works as children’s ministry and media coordinator.
